Nassau, Bahamas: Once again the Junkanoo world has been rocked with utter nonsense and crookedness and at the bottom of it all is the INFAMOUS Les Johnson.
Last week the JCNP held a meeting and during that meeting LES JOHNSON announced that the OFFICIAL winners of the 2008 Boxing Day Parade is the Shell Saxon Superstars.
The next day Bahamas Press brought out the story and the WUTLESS MEDIA read Bahamas Press and started calling up Les Johnson and his sidekick Kishlane O’brien for comments and information. The story took a twist! Instead of Johnson and O’brien telling the press that the Saxons were the OFFICIAL winners, they said there would be a meeting that night to finalize things after which an announcement would be made – The FIRST crooked step in this mess.
That next day, instead of making the announcement as he told the press, Les Johnson boarded a flight bound for Trinidad and Tobago to watch Carnival – The SECOND crooked step in this mess.
Les Johnson came back from Carnival, still acknowledging the Saxons as the OFFICIAL winners, told certain Junkanoo leaders that he will make an official announcement to that end and notify them when he would do it. Instead Les Johnson, UNBEKNOWNST to the JCNP members or Junkanoo leaders sneakily made an announcement to the press on SUNDAY evening stating that the Valley Boys were the Official winners beating out the Saxons by a mere TWO (2) points – The THIRD crooked step in this mess.
After making his sneaky announcement, as usual, Les Johnson did his famous MAGICAL DISAPPEARING ACT. He refused to answer his cell phone and of course the lying staff where he works never seems to know where he is.
No one in the JCNP knows how Les Johnson derived to the conclusion he did about the Valley Boys winning by two points. No one can back up his sneaky little story.
While we are talking about this crooked nonsense the JCNP did led by this man Les Johnson let us explore the function of the JCNP. What is the function? No one really knows but to Bahamas Press it would appear that the function of the JCNP is to PISS OFF ALL JUNKANOOERS. This JCNP emerged out of the Junkanoo Development Association which emerged out of the Junkanoo Leaders Association.
The best association for Junkanoo was the National Junkanoo Corporation until Gus Cooper went crazy and tried to fight the members.
The JCNP, as far as Bahamas Press is concerned is a USELESS body led by people who obviously want to be boss over NOTHING. Les Johnson cant even lead his own group, Roots, so how can he lead a Junkanoo Association? The man doesn’t even show up to Bay Street to rush with his group. How many times has he been noticeably absent from the parade.
Over the years Johnson ran Roots, a group which was born out of the grand ideas of attorney Paul Knowles and banker Peter Turnquest, into the ground. He is NOT respected as the leader of that group and has POOR POOR business practices as he OWES everyone and DUCKS everyone he owes. He CROOKS everyone out of anything that he can – even his own business partners.
Les Johnson is a crook in everything he does and should be removed PERMANENTLY from the Junkanoo world! His expulsion from this Bahamian expression of art should begin with Roots Junkanoo group. After they are finished with him then other members of this insane JCNP need to kick him out and all his cohorts.
Les Johnson or should we say LESS Johnson has created the worse MIX UP and MAYHEM the Junkanoo world has ever seen. He out did himself this time and as usual he is nowhere to be seen.
To the Junkanooers, who work tirelessly to secure a win on Bay Street, Bahamas Press says hold your heads up and push forward to your win. To LESS Johnson Bahamas Press says with the LITTLE manhood you have left, please do this country a favour and RELIEVE the Junkanoo world by doing your usual DISAPPEARING ACT.
Drama King I have found out that Les Johnson got elected back as leader and Bain Boy was elected as Deputy leader.Check this out and confirm this for me.If Valley gets fifth place then Saxon got six place.Confirm this also.

Well good afternoon to you Drama King,if your statement is true that ROOTS elected BAIN BOY as their leader that means that this yeaar BOXING DAY parade will be first place THE VALLEY BOYS,second place ROOTS with third going to the ONE FAMILY and in six place SAXON.What happens between third and six place it doesn’t matter.

Yeah Dibbles, you need to check out Roots. Its ridiculous that they are going to bring that man back as leader. Are they ENJOYING losing or what? Its sad as that group has lots of potential and plenty talent in it but obviously NOT too much intelligence if they putting LES JOHNSON back as their leader.
Yes I finally got Drama King to admit the best junkanoo group in the world is the 2008 Boxing Day winners the VALLEY BOYS.I have to speak with JAY SARGEANT,FROGGY and CHIN and find out what’s going on in ROOTS.I need to find out if there are no OBAMA in the group to bring new blood and new ideas.This is the same thing with SAXON , VALLEY yes I did say the VALLEY’S.New young leaders needed.Kudos to ONE FAMILY young leader,Darrin.
Dibbles…..on a serious note…..I would say this….had I been in charge of the JCNP I dont know that I would come back TWO MONTHS later and change the results of Junkanoo. It looks suspicious and foul. So technically The Valley wins!! (I know you like to hear that…lol)

Showtime you are right! No one is paying attention to the B category. I had heard that those results were changed as well too. I think we need a COMMISSION OF INQUIRY into the findings of the 2008 Boxing Day Parade.
Yes, Dibbles!! We may not together agree that the SAXONS won Boxing Day but I agree with you wholeheartedly that the Junkanoo world needs vision to go to the next level. I am sick of hearing all the bickering and underhandedness.
Shady characters need to be removed from management positions in Junkanoo organizations. God knows enough shady people in the Junkanoo groups. No need for more shady people managing Junkanoo.

There is a lot of talk going on, but no one is saying anything about the B category. One Love Junkanoo Association was announced as the official winners of the 2009 New Years Day parade. Amongst all of the mix up with the Saxons and the Valley Boys, no one seems to be paying attention to the fact that JCNP has also attempted to steal the parade from One Love. Real workers in Junkanoo come from ALL Junkanoo groups. Dibbles YOU KNOW the Saxons shack in Mason’s Addition has real hard working guys in it. They are the backbone of the Saxons along with the Academy shack crew.
