Here is the work of a 25 yea-old Bahamian who studied and graduated at the Rollins College in the US back in 2007. Ryan Lightbourne from this footage has talent, PLENTY TALENT! And from the looks of this video, this is international material.
The video is the kind of work that suits a Ministry of Tourism ad for Latin America. This is what we at BP describe as one having the RAW TALENT. Lightbourne is the type who should be able to come back home and enlist in a professionally charged ZNS, BIS or MOT. BUT THE SUCKERS, who only know how to drink coffee all day, would never allow such young talent to breathe in this country!
Great WORK RYAN! OUR CHANGE MACHINE DEFINITELY WOULD LIKE TO SIT DOWN AND TALK WITH YOU!
“This was shot for the upcoming website “Authentic Bahamas”, which will promote the Islands of The Bahamas (where the true paradise exists)…” he said.
I think you are wonderful Ryan Lightbourne. Simply wonderful. 🙂
All things considered, the video it self is nice and no doubt it will attract a cadre of new inquiring minds to the Bahamas. However, if I was to critique the video I would have a problem with the undertones and their interpetations. Pigs on the beach in the Bahamas with tourist is far fetched from reality. Further, with swine flu being a global health concern, I don’t think pigs should be the animal of preference. I hope my observations are constructive but who am i??? After all someone crashed my third computer in the last six months…..
Will be back to give my findings on other pertinent matters critical to national development…
@rastaman1
Do you realize how many good bahamian songs there are out there. From Mr. spence in the cable bahamas commercials to good old rake n scrape.
That’s precisely what’s wrong with this little country now.Too much
hypocrisy and shallow thinking. That ad is a classic case of HYPOCRISY
@hammerhead
I don’t think “Who Let the Dogs Out” would have had the same effect.
Come on now. You call the video AUTHENTIC Bahamian and can’t be bothered
to use some good old Bahamian music. I’ll pass on this.
@russell
the song is in portuguese. unless you speak portuguese, you aren’t going to understand it. yes we ideally want to use bahamian music in bahamian commercials, but i think its more about the melody and how it works with the footage. which it does quite well.
just give the brother some kudos for doing a good job. we should be encouraging young bahamians to do quality work.
BP unfortunately for me I cannot understand the words of the song.The scenery is nice but without any interpretation am unable to fairly give my views.The title has me puzzled and am putting a meaning on it and hope it is otherwise safe for me to praise.I LOVE the lyrics and beat but need an interpretation..
ahhh! brazilian right? very nice.
The song is by Chico Buarque & Ennio Morricone. It’s called “Funerale di un Contadino”.”
The footage is mainly from Exuma with some Habour Island and a pass-by of Spanish Wells.

@media
yeah bp, you right bout that. this fella would be lucky if he could get a job in tourism when he finished with school.
then while he waiting to hear from them slunkers, some US or british ad firm gone get a easy ten million dollar contract for an ineffective campaign.
complete jokers.
@truthhurts
Man truth when i saw this I said, boi WE BAHAMIANS have some talent. ONLY THIS BAN OF LEADERSHIP WE HAVE IN THIS COUNTRY BELIEVE IN THINGS FOREIGN YA KNOW!
THIS IS A CLASSIC!
beautiful work. they need to let him shoot all their commercials. i wonder what that song is called.
When I saw this video I wanted to quickly pack my bags and head to this place. The I realize, I live here.
