hubert-nib<<< Prime Minster Hubert Ingraham is once again as minister with responsibility for NIB is battling SCANDALS emanating out of the Board. Before Ingraham was fired from the Pindling Cabinet he held responsibility for NIB. Ingraham now, like then, must answer some serious questions surrounding money in NIB. Bahamas Press now probes NIB.

Nassau, BahamasThe Fear Of God was had at the National Insurance Board on yesterday as multiple scandals emanating from the boardroom at NIB was made public by Bahamas Press and in the House of Assembly.

Contracts outlining barefaced conflicts of interest at the highest levels of the Board found its way into Parliament on Wednesday as former minister with responsibility for NIB, Shane Gibson and former Chairman, PhilipBraveDavis outlined serious practices of malfeasance now underway.

Upon hearing the charges levied against NIB Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham responded directing the management to respond to the charges. Ingraham said, “The National Insurance Board will be required and I hereby direct thembecause they are listening to me – to publicly respond to every single allegation made by him [Gibson].

“I will read what they say. I will listen to what they say, and I will speak after that.”ward

Late last evening NIB answered to the charges in colourful sleek language taking on each charge by the MPs and BP one by one. Well, they decided not to go into details and so Bahamas Press will.

We have more, much more questions for the Ingraham, with which we believe he nor NIB will address any further. Nevertheless, all we say to NIB and it’s minister with Cabinet responsibility is this, REMEMBER CARL BETHEL and how we raked him over the coals until he finally resigned from the Cabinet. So here’s where we will begin.

Like Iram Lewis blatant conflicts of interest at NIB, the leadership at The National Insurance Board can also find themselves with the charge of COLLUDINGwith contractors. You would remember we reported the fact that NIB had awarded Porky Dorsett, the husband of former Fox Hill MP Juannianne Dorsett, a whooping $300,000 contract for repairs at the Ministry of Education building on Thompson Blvd. He was paid by NIB $30,000 mobilization fees for work to commenced at the site. The work never happened and that’s not the story.

Porky was on the list of bad NIB contribution non payers. He owed the Board more than $50,000. At the time the contract was issued, Porky was slapped with a warrant of arrest for failing to appear in a magistrate court to answer the charge of avoiding payments to NIB. So the questions:

  • How did Porky get a contract without being current? Or better, who at the top of NIB or thegovernment for that matter caused Porky to be paid $30,000 for work he never did as the contract was cancelled?
  • Did NIB intentionally use the people’s money so Porky can pay his debts with the Board?
  • Who allowed this?
  • And if Porky was current why did NIB not proceed with the contract?

cargillDirector Cargill said last night in his response, “National Insurance Board has been and will continue to hire qualified Bahamians where the talent exists, regardless of political affiliation,” adding that NIB is an “a-political organization”.

We wonder since when did Porky become a qualified tile layer? When did he possessed any skill in construction? Last we checked Porky was a service station operator. So where and or when did he enter the construction feild?

Bahamas Press advises Cargill, The CRIME of COLLUSION IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS ONE! A CRIME SOMEONE AT NIB and more specifically, at the TOP OF INGRAHAM CABINET IS GUILTY OF .

We will further continue our probe into NIB tomorrow.

  2. There is no balancing where justice is concerned in this country. Being a politician, CEO of a big corporate company or being well connected in high places is like being apart of an elite club, where all its members pledge to protect each other. You can expose their devious behaviour, but these types of people are seldom held accountable for their actions. In my opinion some of these people are some of the most dangerous criminals on the face of the planet.
