POLICE SEIZE TWO FIREARMS IN NEW YEAR’S MORNING OPERATION, 3 MALES ARRESTED

POLICE are reporting the arrest of three males in connection with the seizure of two firearms in separate incidents across the island during a New Year’s morning operation.

In the first incident, shortly after 2:30am, the operation team members were on Robinson Road, when they observed a group of males acting suspiciously in front of a restaurant. As the officers approached the group, one of the males walked off. The officers conducted a search of this male and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The 19 – year old suspect was then taken into custody for questioning.

In the second incident, shortly after 8:00am, the operation team members were on Wulff Road and Verbana Street, when they observed a Honda vehicle with two suspicious males inside. The officers then brought the vehicle to a stop. One of the males then exited the vehicle and threw a handgun inside. The officers retrieved the handgun containing ammunition and took into custody the two males ages 18 and 26 for questioning.

This operation was under the command of the Acting Deputy Commissioner Anthony Ferguson.
