NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Department of Aviation of the Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation hosted a dinner for delegates attending the Airports Conference of the Americas, August 5, 2024 at Baha Mar Convention Centre.
Delegates were feted to a buffet of delicious Bahamian cuisine inclusive of peas ‘n rice, snapper, macaroni ‘n cheese, conch fritters, conch salad, and packaged rum cake. Music was provided by Da Pond Band; and a Junkanoo performance closed out the evening – much to the delight and enjoyment by all.
It was the first time The Bahamas hosted the Airports Conference of the Americas, which was presented by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the South Central Chapter AAAE, and the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE). The conference is held in close collaboration with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The forum brought together airport and aviation executives from 25 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the U.S. to discuss important topics affecting international aviation.
Participants learn how others manage current challenges and determine new solutions for safety, security, commercial air service development, infrastructure development, and funding issues.
The conference was held August 4-7, 2024.
