I don’t know what else to say other than I am sorry to hear about what happened to these tourists. Most of them are so daring, you see them on these scooters you would think they been living here all of their lives. Most of them don’t have a clue as to what they are doing and where they are going. That’s why every time I pass them; I always say a little prayer in my heart for them. Whenever they stop me to ask for directions I would take my time to explain to them where they are going and let them repeat what I told them to make sure they understood what I told them.
I live in the West Bay area, and just this year I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen tourists in scooter accidents during my normal commute. From the cable beach strip to goodman’s bay roundabout, go slow bend, arawak cay and fort fin castle area all the way up to bay and shirley streets.
Not to blame them but they do drive rather reckless or don’t know how to handle them at all. Even once seen one of them flip head over and land on the ground unscathed…
It’s rough on the West Bay St. strip for ‘scootourists’
