Nassau, Bahamas — The Water and Sewerage Corporation advises its customers and the general public that late last evening, Monday, August 3rd 2015, a major failure was detected on a critical water main located on Nassau Street just south of West Bay Street.
This water main serves over 30% of the island and failure had resulted in low pressure or total loss of service to several areas of New Providence north of Wulff Road from Goodman’s Bay in the west to Village Road in the east.
This includes but is not limited to following areas: Palmdale, Bain and Grants Town, Big Pond, Fort Fincastle, portions of Shirley Street, Potter’s Cay Dock, St. Alban’s Drive and Highland Terrace.
WSC’s staff are working diligently to repair this leak and we intend to restore pressures to normal in the shortest possible time. WSC sincerely apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience caused.
