Nassau, Bahamas: Frightened mothers and fathers toil in a home probably not their own, but are on the verge of losing it, and cannot sleep at nights in fear of the UNKNOWN. Many asking themselves, “Will I be fired next?” Or, “How will the mortgage/rent be paid this month?” And there, while looking at the kids sleeping in beds, with diminishing hoping for a better and brighter tomorrow, tears stream down a weakened heart.
Today, Bahamas Press wishes to assist and light a spark towards that brighter tomorrow for many citizens of our country. And in doing so remind many, that this too will CHANGE! Yes, we see the HURT on our streets, the thousands now out-of-work, and many others looked in a room filled with tears. YES WE CARE! And today we hold your hands in HOPE across this Bahamas!
We see the young struggling on the streets of our country trying to survive – at almost every stoplight and store – and many others not knowing how to find the strength to wake up for another day. YES WE CARE!
We see the old and weak standing in the long lines for food, where soup kitchens have ran out and closed their doors, YES WE CARE! Fathers, many who wish to work, but cannot find it and yet still keep a strong head, WE APPLAUD YOU, YES WE CARE!
And to the bedrock of the Bahamian family, that single mother who builds the best for her family and see the tough times ahead, and yet operate with GREAT HOPE IN HER HEART, WE SALUTE YOU!
YES WE CARE! And for this moment, this weekend we ask you all our fellow bloggers to reach out and assist where you can. Ask your neighbour how can you help them. REACH OUT and encourage a friend today. Prepare a meal and take it to someone this weekend. For there are many who just need that spirit of LOVE, KINDNESS AND FRIENDSHIP IN OUR LAND, TO RISE UP AND FACE ANOTHER DAY!
